About Us

Founders

Merete Oakes and Zoe Roberts, the founders of the Chicken League, played field hockey at Montgomery Blair High School for four years where they led their team as captains for two years. They also both served as coaches for the Masters Adult Swim Team and as personal swim instructors. Through the Chicken League, they hope to extend the friendly and encouraging environment of the Blair field hockey team and make field hockey a more accessible sport. Though Merete and Zoe are now in college at American University and William & Mary respectively, they continue to support the Chicken League and love getting to seeing the girls around town!
